Thanksgiving 2012

We stayed in Ohio for Thanksgiving. We had Thanksgiving dinner with the other basketball coaches. Here are a few pictures from our day.

John Thomas' Thanksgiving dinner, he didn't eat any of it. For Thanksgiving he ate only cantaloupe.

Our family at Thanksgiving Dinner, minus Little Tommy (who we missed!).

First night in Christmas pj's.

The picture I put on Facebook Thanksgiving day to let everyone know JT was going to be a big brother on May 12. Baby Francis was 15weeks and 4 days old and John Thomas is almost 22 months old.

Feeling Better

I am so thankful I have started feeling like myself again! It is amazing how you wake up one morning and think I should be nauseous but I'm not. You get out of bed still feel ok and just like that your back to yourself :) It happened at 12.5 weeks with this pregnancy. I wasn't prepared to feel good again so fast, with John Thomas I was sick until week 17 so I was prepared to be sick that long again. So so thankful I'm not! Another major difference in my pregnancy is how fast I am showing. I have been asked if I was having twins and also if I was having triplets! I was with John Thomas at the park when I was almost 11 weeks and a little girl asked me if I had a baby in my belly. Crazy! I remember I was 5 months pregnant before I had anyone tell me I looked pregnant with JT.

12 weeks

By the way - I have had an ultra sound and there is only one baby :)

Halloween

This is the first year we took John Thomas trick-or-treating. Last year he was 10 months old so I dressed him up on Halloween and took him everywhere in his costume :) and he answered the door with me in his costume.

Happy that he got the head off :)

Halloween night was cold here!!! Temperature was in the low 30's, raining and windy. We had a low turnout on trick-or-treaters and lots of left over candy (we donated most of it). Trick-or-treating was held on a Tuesday night here and Wednesday night (actual Halloween) we took John Thomas to a large indoor shopping center that was holding indoor trick-or-treating. I think everyone decided to do indoor trick-or-treating since the weather was so bad. This place was packed!!! Most stores ran out of candy because of such a high turnout. We got JT popcorn from one store then took him to a friends house to trick-or-treat. Fun night for my little man.

long time away

I hate that I have not updated my blog in such a long time! Of course I was busy (like everyone), enjoyed reading other blogs than actually updating mine and I have not been feeling well for the past month or so. Whenever I had free time or John Thomas napped I joined him or watched mindless t.v. Productivity has not been my strong point lately :)
We found out on September 9th that I AM PREGNANT!!! Yay! Baby #2 is due in May. We are really excited and so blessed! I prayed we would have an easy time getting pregnant because May is a slow month with my husbands job so he could help more around that time. God answered my prayers :)

Pregnancy is tough when you have a toddler!!! (and no family around to help) I have started taking medicine to help with the vomiting. I was vomiting so much John Thomas started running to the bathroom coughing and spitting in the toilet. I guess he thought that is what we did around our house now :) Love the toddler stage where they copy everything you do, I really think it is so cute. I ended up in the ER last week because I was so dehydrated, after 3.5 bags of fluid and 6 hours they let me go home. I am thankful I have a wonderful babysitter that dropped what she was doing and stayed with JT all day. A good friend also kept him for me on Saturday so I could recover. She is a lifesaver!! Since then I have been feeling much better (still not normal) but better. Hoping in a couple weeks I will be back to my old self. I am really looking forward to being able to give JT a sibling to share all those special memories with.

A few weeks ago John Thomas and I met my mom, sisters and nephews in Albuquerque for the Hot Air Balloon festival. Wow! It is huge! We had a great time. Loved spending time with my family. John Thomas copied everything his big cousin, Gavin, did and Seth, 5months old, reminded me what it was like having a baby around :) I treasure the memories. My family did not know I was pregnant so John Thomas wore his Big Brother shirt off the plane. My sister, Dianne, greeted us first and did not notice but Leigh Anne noticed right away. They were happy and shocked. (Leigh Anne said she's a little nervous for me, she is still getting use to juggling two kids.

Pictures from the past month to catch everyone up to speed...

Minneapolis

Tommy had a few days off before recruiting starts again so we took a trip to Minneapolis to see his family. We had a great time. Went to the state fair, took JT swimming, spent time with Tommy's family, ate some good meals, took a tour of a college little Tommy is thinking about going to next year, when to a Labor Day festival and the Mall of America. A successful trip with lots of family time before basketball season starts.

Chicago

Chicago is only about 4.5 hours away from us so we decided to take a long weekend trip to visit the city. John Thomas had his 18month old shots the day before we left so it may not had been the best timing. He was fussy it didn't sleep well the first day. Poor guy and poor us ;)

Proof JT was not enjoying the start of our trip

However the rest of us enjoyed Navy Pier and the farriswheel.

My love/hate part of the trip, JT does not sleep well in different environments so usually he ends up in the bed with Tommy and I. Mostly laying on top of me all night. He also wakes up early. The first morning he was up by 5:30 so I put him in the jogging stroller and went running so everyone else could sleep. I loved running in Chicago! So many people were out running and the weather was perfect!

Views from our run

We visited  Shedd Aquarium, which JT loved!

Hoping Oprah would come outside and adopt me :)

We stayed right off Michigan Ave so we also got to do some shopping and lots of eating! My favorite spot was called Hot Chocolate right outside of Chicago. If I would have lived in Chicago when I was young and single I imagine I would hang out in that area ;) We also ate at two restaurants that had been on the show Drivers, Diners and Dives. We took an architectural tour of Chicago that was great! Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I was trying to entertain an 18 month old on a small boat for 90 minutes.

On the way home there was an accident and we sat on the interstate not moving for about an hour. I took this picture because it isn't too ofter you see your toddler hanging out on the interstate.

Brotherly Bonding (still sitting on the interstate)

Fun trip to Chicago!
